Good morning Ramapo Indian Hills,

It has been an outstanding first week for me as your new Superintendent of Schools. I would like to thank the district team, faculty and staff, students, parents, members of the community, and our Board of Education for your support in my transition over these past several months. It is also fitting that I express my gratitude and appreciation to the APTS and PTSO who generously hosted a Parent Meet & Greet on October 28th at Indian Hills High School. A special thank you to the parents, leadership team, and BOE members who were able to attend that event.

I have enjoyed walking the hallways and meeting with staff and students in my first week of school. I was able to engage in meaningful conversations with members of our team to understand the operations of our district and schools. It was especially refreshing to witness firsthand the pride from our community when I attended the Fall theater production Bobrauschenbergamerica (it’s still not too late to catch the last show Saturday night) and Friday night’s Ramapo High School football game under the lights. It was wonderful to experience the positive energy from all in attendance that makes this community so very special.

I would like to extend congratulations to Mr. Anello who has passionately led our Athletic and Student Activities program for over 10 years at Ramapo High School. Thank you for welcoming me to my new role. Best wishes in your retirement and thank you for your dedicated service to our community. Ramapo is pleased to announce that Mr. Mancino was recently appointed as the new Director of Athletics and Student Activities and he will officially begin in his new role on January 1, 2022. Please join us in congratulating Mr. Mancino on his new position!

I am eager to learn about the many initiatives in our district and continue to support these efforts. As we become acquainted with one another, you will come to find that I am a child-centered educator focused on supporting our staff to help best meet the needs of all of our students. I believe in collaboration supporting everyone to help advance our district.

In the coming months, there will be opportunities for me to hear from you on the points of pride in our schools that we should continue to celebrate and the areas we should focus on in order to continue to evolve this outstanding school district. Your perspective will provide me with valuable insight to help guide our school district toward the future.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve. Together, we can accomplish great things. Wishing all of you an inspirational school year.

All my best,

Dr. Rui Dionisio

Superintendent of Schools
